Don't forget the sweatband 😋. I started off using Madeira thread, but changed over to candle thread. At $5.50 for a large cone it's hard to beat the price. I know they have a minimum order to get free shipping but that has never been a problem meeting the minimum. I currently use a Ricoma EM-1010 embroidery machine and it seems to work just fine for hats and flats. Every problem I have had has been user error. And it was awesome seeing you being able to spend time with your son and teach them the trade. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Mr.Sam, I'm wanting to purchase the SmartStitch S1501 Embriodery Machine, but I have a quick question hopefully you can answer. I understand that the mighty Hoops are compatable with this s1501? Is there a certain step I need to make to add those hoops onto my machine or are they already programmed in the machine ? and would you happen to have a video on those steps on added the mighty hoops? When you get closer to the bill, needle deflection can become more common. That can cause missed bobbin pickup or shredded thread.

Nice sketchup drawings! Thats a great idea to print out the sections and put in a 3-ring binder. Believe it or not I was just starting designing the exact dimensions of your building, beams and joists for a 20x32 cabin and overlapped my joists like you did and was debating how to layout the subfloor since only one side of the building is 16" on center all the way down before I saw your videos. On the other side of the building, since the first and last joists are offset, the subfloor didnt line up with the other side. Your videos gave some good ideas on that such as the little small subfloor section in the corner. You gave another good point about overlapping the joists so that it keeps each side from sinking between beams. Sketchup has a little bit of learning curve but once you get past that, it is an awesome tool. When learning sketchup I have found there are quite a few cheat sheets that show what the icons are for, but not much that shows the steps to take for each to tool to do certain things (such as how to copy your joists all at once!). Ive made some youtubes in the past and am thinking about making a video about using sketchup for projects such as this. Would you mind if reference your videos since they were a great inspiration? On hats that don’t workout, is it possible to use a seam ripper to remove the design? Even though it may be tedious.

Sometimes you can move the “start location” on a letter that is giving you problems on the tie in. I notice problems more on letters that are low on the hat, next to the bill. Don’t forget to flip the sweatband.😂

I use the Brothread also and have no issues with it. I've also used Maderna and seems to work fine.

Fil-Tec Magna-Glide Embroidery Bobbins are the best bobbins. I don't have to deal with tension issues at all

I had an embroidery business for 12 yrs. Those hats you did that particular day was for free. You need a 4 head minimum to be profitable. You can't make decent profits using a single head machine Especially with hats. You just cutting yourself to thin. Been there done that! Don't be that guy that says. "Sure I can do that"
